AirBnBs Between Volterra & Villa di Ulignano

For those who prefer to stay in AirBnB’s, please read carefully:

We hope to provide transportation to you in the form of bus-pooling—as long as your accommodations are en route from Volterra to Villa di Ulignano—but we’re still working out the details. These will be confirmed closer the the wedding date, so please keep checking back.

In the meantime, here are a few accommodations en route from Volterra to Villa di Ulignano that we recommend. If you do book an AirBnB outside of these recommendations, please let us know so we can keep your location in mind when planning transportation.

VILLA DI SCOPICCI

Built in 1700 by the noble Campani family, this villa is an authentic escape nestled among the Tuscan hills. Made up of three houses and located ~10 minutes from Volterra and ~5 minutes from Villa di Ulignano, this home is a great spot for multiple wedding guests to use as home base. Plus, the hosts have great reviews on AirBnB.

CASA LA ROCCA & CASA AI CALANCHI

Made up of two apartments, this AirBnB accommodates 6 guests (3 double beds). It’s ~10 from Volterra, ~35min from San Giminano. The apartments are recently renovated—and air conditioned, which is rare in Tuscany…

CASA LA TORRE

This is the main house located on the same property Casa La Roca & Casa Ai Calanchi above. The 2-story villa accommodates 8 guests (4 bedrooms, 5 beds) and is located ~10 from Volterra and ~35min from San Giminano. This Tuscan retreat is great spot for larger groups. However, if you’re traveling as a couple and are interested in connecting with other wedding guests, let Alex and me know—we’ll put y’all in touch to rent out this gem together.

ALABASTER

With a single double bedroom and bathroom, this ancient apartment is ideal for one couple. Having been built in early '900, it’s literally ancient. Between the antique furnishings and views of the Cecina Valley, you can still feel the old-world charm radiating from the walls. But rest assured that this gem has been updated with all the comforts of modern living we’re accustomed to: Kitchen, fireplace, fridge, shower, and free wi-fi. Plus, it’s only a short walk away from Volterra’s town center.

LA BERGERIE

Medieval-era room with first-world comforts. With a single double bed, this room is perfect for a couple but can transform into a place for friends with rollaway twin, on request. The AirBnB hosts stay just upstairs and are available should you need anything. Enjoy access to a common room where Myriam will provide a breakfast that she describes as, “charming, abundant and unforgettable.”
